Fernie Alpine Resort Wedding | British Columbia | Caprie & Jason

Hands down this was one of the MOST JOYFUL weddings I have ever been present at! Which is a true testament to Caprie, Jason and their loved ones, because all of the things that went wrong on this day became a comedy of errors, that we are still laughing about to this day. The list is a gem, get ready.

The helicopter for portraits got cancelled due to mechanical errors. The ice bar was malfunctioning and couldn't be used. Half way through loading the guests up on the main chair lift for the ceremony at Lost Boys Café a storm rolled in and the chair was shut down, leaving half the guests stuck at the top. There was a scramble to move the location for the ceremony to the Lizard Creek Lawn, while guests were shuttled down in pick up trucks. In that hustle and bustle I grabbed the bride and groom for a quick "first look" (they were meant to see each other for the first time at the ceremony) and rallied the wedding party for our last and only change to get mountain top photos by convincing the lifties of the smaller chair to stay running just a bit longer so we could literally have 5 minutes (no exaggeration!) to at least take a few portraits at the top.. PHEW. But thats not all. In the meantime the Commissioner had to leave to perform another wedding, so two friends stepped up to do the ceremony, (don't worry the commissioner came back later to make it official and legal!) Oh, and Caprie lost her veil on the chair lift ride down, luckily she had a backup! So, this is why you shouldn't worry about things going wrong on your wedding day, because this wedding was perfect and AMAZING!
